Discovering Fire
In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire
That on the ashes of his youth doth lie,
As the death-bed whereon it must expire
Consumed with that which it was nourish'd by.
from Sonnet 73 William Shakespeare
I love camp fires. Every time I sit by a fire, I think of those lines from Shakespeare, and I think of how important fire is to the survival of human beings. Without fire, hot meals, warmth and light would have been impossible for early people. It was the a primal element of life and evolution. Fire nourished and protected early man, since animals avoid fire, the night was no longer a fearful place. With the protection of fire, humans could relax just a bit and they could begin to dream.
Sly and I enjoyed the cool spring evening by building a fire. My mind wondered, and I started to dream. May you all have the time to dream.
No knitting news. Enjoy your dreams. I dream of yarn; what do you dream of?

you are talking about a girl who spent 18 years of summers camping. and also years and years of girl scouting. I LOVE CAMPFIRES! (so does my mom)
we should have campfire/smore nite at your place!
A campfire/smore night is an awsome idea! What do I dream about?......What yarn smells like! Hehehehehehe!
Oooh, i'm so jealous. Can't wait for the first campfire of the season for us!!
What? Like there's something wrong with purple?
Last night i had a dream about my first love. I dream about him a lot, there's a lot unresolved, it's a long story, but the psycho-cult church we were in forbid us to speak to one another.
Sigh.

I cannot wait for summer vacation.
I dream about zombies. A lot.
Wow, isn't it crazy what we all dream about. I always dream about GREAT kisses! What does that say about me I wonder?
I dream about problems I'm dealing with in my life...for instance, I just had a bad experience at work so I dream about getting along with that very same person like nothing happened...it's very weird! In my dreams, everything is resolved, but in real life, not so much! I *wish* I'd dream of yarn too!
